Vysoké Tatry - Solisko Malďż˝ - 2336 m

Popis-štítu / Description:
Malé Solisko is one of the several distinctive summits in the Soliskový hrebeň (ridge). The peak is separated fromm Soliskové veže (towers) by Solisková štrbina (notch) and from Furkotské Solisko (peak) by Vysoká lávka (ledge/ramp). Furkotské Solisko was considered over some period of time to be the SE summit of Malé Solisko. The W face, 250 meters high, is towering above Furkotská dolina (valley) and it is facing slightly to the south. There are two Soliskové veže (towers) in the middle of the ridge. The northern one is Zadná (rear) and the southern one is Predná (front) Solisková veža. There is Nižná Solisková štrbina (notch) between these two towers. The Zadná veža is separated from from Soliskové hrby (humps) by Prostredná Solisková štrbina (notch). There are 4 distinctive spires/towers (Zadný/rear, Prostredný/middle, Predbý/front, Malý Soliskový hrb) in Soliskové hrby; all of these are well visible from Furkotská dolina and these are distinctive when looking from Mlynica (Mlynická valley) as well. The faces above Mlynica fall away to the ramp which is located beneath these faces, and there are steep faces falling away to the bottom of the valley  from the ramp.
Getting there: Very simple: follow the hiking trails in Mlynická or Furkotská dolina (valleys).

Zostup zo štítu / Descent:

It is possible to combine your descent with the next hike, following the ridge until you reach Predné Solisko. See in Soliskový hrebeň.The possible descent route to Furkotská dolina is in any of the less difficult “ascent” gullies.Translated by M. Ridzoň.
