Subvalleys & folds:
Kôprová dolina | Kôprová dolina is 11 km long wooded valley located in W part of Vysoké Tatry. It is one of the largest valleys in VT. The upper section of valley contains quite a lot side valleys. These are: Škaredý žľab, Kotliny, Nefcerská dolina, Hlinská dolina, Temnosmrečinská dolina and northernmost Kobylia dolinka. The valley is separated on E from southern valleys on Slovak part Vysoké Tatry by lateral ridge of Kriváň (peak), which is jutting out from main ridge of VT at Čubrina (peak). On NE the valley is separated from the dolina Rybieho potoka and dolina Piatich Poľských plies (valleys) by the main ridge of VT. On N and W the valley is separated from Tichá dolina by long massif of Veľká kopa (mountain). The most interesting part of valley for the climbers is mostly the massif of Kriváň, which is the last peak in already mentioned lateral ridge of Kriváň. This peak has the great prominence above the valley. Getting there: take a bus to Podbasnké or Tri Studničky from Štrbské pleso. From Podbanské follow the green hiking trail and from Tri Studničky the blue one. |
